Nothing is more important to Alberta’s union carpenters and scaffolders than making sure we all leave the job site healthy and safe.
We and our employers have one of the industry’s finest safety records, so when you join us, you can rest assured you’ll be working for, and with, people who share your concern for your own personal safety and that of your co-workers.
The 550,000 members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters are wholly committed to the power of training as a strategy to ensure that we both maintain and improve our share of the construction market.
Our International has invested $67.6 million in a state-of-the-art training centre in Las Vegas where the regional trainers who teach new and upgraded skills to our members are themselves trained.
The Alberta Regional Council has recently built a stunning new $21 million Provincial Training & Administration Centre that includes 35,000 square feet of high quality classroom and training shop space. One scaffolding training shop includes exposed girders for hanging scaffolds. We also operate training centres in Calgary and Fort McMurray.
Our dedication to the value in keeping our skills sharp and up to date is so strong that no member pays more than $10 for an upgrading course or training program.
Here’s a list of current Alberta Carpenters Training Centre courses.
