Big Pay!
Journeyman millwrights in Saskatchewan now earn a total pay package exceeding $50 an hour, and there's plenty of overtime these days if you want to work it.
Our contract runs until April, 2014, with an increase in April 2012 and another one (3% or inflation + 1% whichever is greater) in 2013.
A couple of our major projects are camp jobs with free room and food. On other jobs, if you live more than 100 kilometers from the worksite, you are paid a Living Out Allowance of $120 a day. If you live closer, there's paid travel time.
Here's the current pay grid for Journeyman Millwrights on industrial jobs:

Our employers pay 100% of our Health & Welfare and Group RSP contributions.
We work 5X8 and 4X10 schedules. On 5-day schedules, OT is paid at 1.5X for the first 2 extra hours, 2X thereafter. On weekends and Stats, it's 2X, On 4-day schedules, OT is 2X after 10 hours, 1.5X for the first 10 hours on Fridays, 2X after 10 on Fridays, and 2X on weekends and Stats.
